1. Introduction to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management

Duration: 2 days (if onsite) or 2x4 hours (if online).

During this workshop, participants will be introduced to the basic features of Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Supply Chain Management, both functional and technical sides. Everyone who has a basic understanding of Dynamics 365 F&SCM and would like to expand their knowledge are very welcome to join this workshop as they will be presented with the first steps towards Dynamics 365 F&SCM.

During this workshop, participants will be introduced to:

  • The basic features of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, core and navigation.
  • The surrounding technology platforms such as LCS, Azure and Azure Dev Ops.
  • Core product frameworks such as Global Address Book, Number Sequence, Batch, Role-based Security, Data Entities and Data Management Platform.
  • Core integration capabilities and tools such as OData, Office 365 integration and the Power Platform.
  • Application lifecycle management, code promotion and code maintenance methodologies.
  • Microsoft App Store.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Perform basic navigation in the products.
  • Understand the role of lifecycle services.
  • Understand authorization and authentication security.
  • Understand the common integration patterns.
  • Understand the role of the data management platform and perform basic data migration.

2. Q&A Session

Duration: 2x4hours online (can be split into two separate sessions).

During this Q&A session, tailored to individual partner needs, program partners will have the possibility to talk and discuss with our subject matter experts about the latest updates, newest features and everything that is relevant and interesting for the partner in the Dynamics AX/365 F&SCM area. During this call we will be able to talk about innovations on both the technical and functional sides, discuss project management methodologies or provide some valuable hints on upcoming release news.

The Q&A session is divided into two parts – a partner can decide whether he wants to go with it two times in succession or have these separate sessions whenever there is a need. Before deciding to have this session, we encourage program partners to reach out to us to agree on the agenda so that we can prepare as best we can for these sessions.

3. What’s new in functional or what’s new in technical

Duration: 2 days (if onsite) or 2x4 hours (if online).

A partner can either have a workshop of “What’s new in functional” or “What’s new in technical,” or select a workshop that would include a mix of both functional and technical updates. If requested by a partner, the training can be adjusted and delivered to a partner’s selected end customer to support a partner during the presales process. This workshop is useful for existing AX customers who would like to get acquainted with the general concept of D365 F&SCM. During this workshop, customers will be prepared for migrating to D365 F&SCM both technically and functionally.


What’s new in functional

Participants will expand their knowledge and get insights of:

  • LCS product role and features for different business roles.
  • Customer on-boarding process and D365 F&SCM Implementation methodology steps.
  • Introduction to new features and tools (Task recorder, Data Management Platform, UI Helpers, Automatic testing).

After this workshop, participants will have a fundamental understanding of Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management concepts and features from the functional perspective.

Course prerequisites: Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.


What’s new in technical

Participants will expand their knowledge and get insights of:

  • New capabilities such as Microsoft Dynamics F&SCM architecture, Visual studio environment.
  • What’s new in Data dictionary, Forms, Classes, Debugger, Data entities, Security and Reporting.
  • New user interface of Dynamics F&SCM and security requirements.
  • Extensions and extensibility development approach.

After this workshop, participants will be able to understand new D365 F&SCM concepts and features and know the next steps towards migrating to the new product.

Course prerequisites: Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
