Situation

Changes in legal requirements for enterprise accounting introduced in Portugal last year have forced companies to take advantage of new features and enhancements added to the latest versions of Microsoft Dynamics solutions. As a result, customer demand for Microsoft Dynamics solutions upgrades in the Portuguese market has increased considerably.

Link Management Solutions, the largest Microsoft partner operating in Portugal in the area of ERP solutions implementation and development, was eager to find a cost-effective way to expand its upgrade resources to meet this growing demand for upgrades. The company needed to implement a Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution upgrade project but was challenged from a deadline perspective.

Solution

The pressure of the deadline encouraged Link Management Solutions to outsource the project to 1ClickFactory, a Microsoft appointed Upgrade Service Center with a focused expertise on Dynamics solutions upgrades.

"The upgrade proposals we received from 1ClickFactory were very impressive - they were very professional and in 3 out of 4 cases significantly lower in estimated time compared to our own estimates. 1ClickFactory helped LMS successfully convert object customizations from the NAV 4.0 PT to Microsoft Dynamics NAV SP1 PT CC and performed a solution upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Classical Client to Microsoft Dynamics NAV RoleTailored Client (RTC). In addition, the 1ClickFactory development staff was also asked to carry out the data migration process test: which included modifying the Microsoft Upgrade Toolkit, performing data transformation, and resolving data transformation issues and test reports per transformed company database. In addition, 1ClickFactory prepared upgrade implementation guidelines to enable implementations and transformation by partner specialists.

The upgrade project was completed in the agreed-upon time and met all customer/partner requirements.
