Business demonstrated initiative
Our academy trains young IT professionals and offers them the chance of employment in the exciting field of technology
1ClickFactory Academy, established in Vilnius, helps young IT professionals gain the knowledge necessary for innovative programming solutions.
Six top students mostly from the Vilnius University Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics were selected for the first course of the Academy, the majority of whom were IT students.
"As the company grows, a need for competent programming specialists increases in parallel. In order to fill this need, we have started looking for young IT students or recently graduated IT professionals because they are extremely enthusiastic and creative," says Søren Fink-Jensen, founder of 1ClickFactory Academy and CEO of the company 1ClickFactory.
According to Mr. Fink-Jensen, Lithuanian high schools prepare many good IT specialists, but they usually lack some specific knowledge.
"We were looking for a way to prepare young programmers in a relatively short period of time so that they can join an international company. We have decided that the best place to train young specialists is where the specific knowledge has been already concentrated - inside the company," says Mr. Fink-Jensen.
Students of 1ClickFactory Academy will be trained intensively for 3 months to work on the Microsoft Dynamics platform. After gaining basic knowledge, young specialists will be trained on individual programs and finally the most talented students will be offered employment in the company.
Specific knowledge
Česlovas Ratkevičius, associate professor of Economical Informatics division in Vilnius University, also affirms that Lithuanian education institutions provide relatively good programming knowledge to the students. "However, Microsoft Dynamics NAV uses a specialized programming tool, C/CIDE; therefore, programmers willing to become professionals of this system need additional knowledge that is more easily gained in the workplace," says Mr. Ratkevičius. He emphasizes that it is very important for every programmer not only to have programming skills but also to have knowledge of the field which programs are developed for.
Currently Microsoft Dynamics NAV business management system is used by more than 76,000 companies in 42 countries. 1.35 million users work with it every day.
"We have plans to expand the scope of the Academy in the future, including covering not only purposeful training of young programming specialists, but also a wider co-operation between IT students and professionals in the fields of knowledge exchange, IT science projects and research as well as intellectual property rights pretection," explains Mr. Fink-Jensen, revealing the future vision of the Academy.
